We are animals of unproductive habits, victims of wrong perceptions, prisoners of trodden paths. Therefore this self must be broken and rebuilt every day, lest we become confined in complacency. There should always be something that makes us slightly uncomfortable, so we know we are not completely in tune with ourselves and the universe, and should pay attention and strive for perfection again. Every day shall be a rebirth, with not too much reference to yesterday and tomorrow. All our achievements in the past should be reset to zero, and weigh nothing on today’s scale. Then we are once again a fresh and humble person, free from luggage.
